Instant Blue Screen with Nvidia Control Panel
(14 posts)Hello!
Every single time I open the Nvidia Control Panel, I get an instant Blue Screen. The initial Blue Screen was me watching my friend mess around with EVGA Precision X, the GPU settings to be specific. (No this was not with my permission. I would have been quick to stop him if the following didn't happen so suddenly) With the settings changed, and 'apply' pushed, I watched in horror as my screen and computer -flipped- out. Screen blinking on and off.. and then the lovely Blue Screen. When I turn my computer back on, EVGA is set to start up with Windows. So.. naturally.. I get the same issue as when he pushed apply. I had to boot into safe mode, and manually remove the program in order to boot back in normaly without issues. My first thoughts were.. this can't be over. I had recently downloaded the Nvidia Control Panel, so I decided to see what was in it. I opened the performance tab, and it asked for me to agree to some terms. There was my next Blue Screen. Now.. When I logged back on, I'm thinking, I'll reinstall the latest driver. So I did.. I ended up eventually opening Nvdia Control panel once again, only to receive -another- blue screen, purely from just -opening- the program. I tried this once more to be sure this wasn't some random bull. But of course, to no surprise, it happened yet again.
What the hell did my idiot friend begin. Please let me know exactly what information you need, assuming you need more.
Go to the controller GUI and click the metal to pour out (The metal should go to the bottom). The tool part will disappear after the cast finishes hardening. After, smelt a metal in the Smeltery. Clay casts can only be used once before being consumed.Put the tool part on the Casting table and right-click on the faucet. It will pour out one or two ingots, depending on what metal you are using.

Graphics Card - GeForce GTX 250
The Driver I downloaded, installed, and still my current Driver - Version 306.23
Aelrith hi. Unless you are constantly fiddling with your graphics setup, you don't need NCP installed.
I would uninstall it with the free version of Revo (in Advanced mode),

Well I'd like to fiddle with the Graphics Card. That's been the plan. But it couldn't continue due to my friends 'mistake'.
When you reinstall the latest driver, did you completely uninstall the previous one? Without a clean install of the Nvidia drivers, oftentimes, previous issues such as incorrect/incompatible configurations get passed along.
See, thats the weird thing.. Control panel > Device Manager > Display Adapters > Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 > Right Click to Properties > Driver Tab > Uninstall. The kicker, is that when I opened my computer up again after uninstalling that way, I logged into the driver -still- running and working. Did I do something wrong? Or is there a better way? I swear, I'm usually the one that tells people how to do this crap.. Now who's the idiot -_-
Probably best to discuss here.

I've had many issues before, and they've been solved here. This is the reason why I decided to return. Not entirely sure what my old account was, sadly.

O/Cing Video card does not gain much no matter what folks may say.
Is more of an advertising ploy than a real performance gain.
Would this be solved entirely if I just reinstalled windows.. Because I have two HDDS.. And everything important is on the other. Or is this problem now permanently set in my Video Card.
A Clean Install will solve all your issues.
This time just be careful to install all Updated Machine Device Drivers after the windows 7 installation and before installing Windows 7 updates.

After Windows 7 is updated plus setup and before installing any applications, make a backup image of the system.
With reference to their Release Notes, later releases of Nvidia drivers does not support uninstalling drivers using Device Manager or rolling back to previous drivers using Device Manager on supported versions of Windows since it may not remove associated files or applications. Microsoft has confirmed that this behavior is by design. If you wish to uninstall the NVIDIA driver, it is recommended that you do so using Add and Remove programs. Restart and then reinstall the new driver.
