Digital Auto Tuning Sony Bravia Not Working
In anticipation of the upcoming transition and a necessity to be able to tune in certain subchannels which my cable provider doesn't carry, I recently got a ClearStream4 OTA antenna and hooked it up to my year-old Sony Bravia 46' HDTV.
By positioning the antenna about five and a half feet off the ground and pointed to the north north west, I have line-of-sight to Mount Wilson, about 20 miles away, where nearly all of the broadcasts in Los Angeles originate from.
First did a scan for analog channels, and found a bunch in the VHF range but nothing in UHF. Being that the ClearStream4 is noted for its UHF reception, I found this quite odd.
Then I switched over to digital and did a scan. Nothing. Not one channel. Hmm. Maybe I have a setting wrong. I read the manual cover-to-cover. Nope, this is exactly how it should work! Well, maybe I don't have the antenna lined up as well as I think. I spend a couple hours testing and determine that everything is perfect and I'm getting the best possible signal for my location. Still nothing on the digital scan.
OK, well let's hook it up to my EyeTV on my HTPC Mac Mini. What do you know? It found 73 channels! It picks up every single channel in the area.
So, again I go back to the Bravia tuner, read the manual cover-to-cover, look online, and still cannot figure out why it picks up nothing at all. Is this a known issue? Antares autotune vst crack. Does the tuner just suck that bad? Or, is it broken and I should talk to someone about possible repair?
